# Privacy Policy — meetingthemneeds.com
**Last updated: 15 July 2026**
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use meetingthemneeds.com, register for our free live events, or buy our lessons — and what we do with it, in plain English.
## 1. Who's responsible for your data
The data controller is **MK9 LTD** (company number **15787340**), registered office: **Unit 17 Rockhaven, Street, Somerset, BA16 0HW**, trading as Meeting Them Needs and MK9Plus.
Questions, requests, or complaints about your data: **team@meetingthemneeds.com**.
## 2. What we collect, and why
**When you register for a free live event:** your name and email address. We use these to send your access link, event reminders, and the replay information — that's the service you signed up for.
**When you buy something:** your name, email, and payment details. Payments are handled by our payment processors — we never see or store your full card number. We use your details to deliver your content, send receipts, and keep the purchase records the law requires us to keep.
**When you attend a live event:** anything you type in the chat or Q&A. Sessions may be recorded (attendee cameras and microphones are off); if your chat messages appear in a recording, that recording may be shared with attendees and buyers as a replay.
**When you email us:** your message and email address — including the honest feedback we ask VIP buyers to send. We use feedback to improve the lessons; we won't publish it as a testimonial without asking you first.
**When you browse the site:** technical data (device, pages visited, rough location from IP) via cookies and similar tools — details in section 6.
**Marketing:** if you register or buy, we may email you about our other dog-training content, lessons, and events. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects anything you've bought.
## 3. Our lawful bases (the UK GDPR bit)
- **Contract** — delivering what you registered or paid for (access links, lesson access, receipts, support).
- **Legal obligation** — keeping tax and accounting records of purchases.
- **Legitimate interests** — service emails about events you registered for; marketing to existing registrants and customers about similar content (with an unsubscribe in every message); site analytics; preventing fraud and misuse.
- **Consent** — advertising cookies/pixels (section 6) and any marketing that requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
## 4. Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services that run our business, under contracts that protect it:
- **Website and checkout:** ClickFunnels (hosts these pages and processes orders)
- **Payments:** Stripe and PayPal
- **Email delivery:** our email platform (used to send access links, reminders, and newsletters)
- **Lesson hosting:** the MK9Plus content platform, where your purchased lessons live
- **Video:** Vimeo and YouTube (embedded videos on our pages)
- **Analytics:** Google (Tag Manager/Analytics) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymous-as-possible usage statistics, heatmaps, and session replays that help us fix confusing pages)
- **Advertising:** Meta (Facebook/Instagram), where you've consented to advertising cookies. We may also share hashed (scrambled) email lists with advertising platforms so we can avoid re-advertising to existing members or reach similar audiences — email us to opt out of this.
We'll also share data if the law genuinely requires it (for example, with HMRC or a court).
## 5. International transfers
Some of the providers above are US companies. Where your data leaves the UK, it's protected by recognised safeguards — the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or UK-approved contract terms (the IDTA/Addendum).
## 6. Cookies and similar technologies
Three kinds run on this site:
- **Essential** — make the site, checkout, and video players work. These don't need consent and can't be switched off.
- **Statistics/analytics** — count visits, show us where pages confuse people (including Microsoft Clarity heatmaps and session replays). We use these solely to understand and improve the site. UK law (as of February 2026) permits purely statistical cookies without a consent pop-up, provided we tell you about them — this section is that notice — and give you a free way to opt out: email **team@meetingthemneeds.com** or use your browser's cookie controls, and we'll exclude your visits.
- **Advertising** — Meta's pixel, which helps us measure ads and show relevant ones. These only run **with your consent**, which you can give or refuse via the cookie banner and change at any time.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though a few conveniences won't.
## 7. How long we keep things
- **Purchase and tax records:** 6 years (legal requirement)
- **Your account/content access:** for as long as you have access to purchased content
- **Marketing list:** until you unsubscribe or we haven't seen any engagement from you for a long stretch, at which point we remove you
- **Event recordings:** for as long as the replay is offered to that event's audience
- **Analytics and session replays:** short-term — typically deleted or anonymised within 12 months
- **Emails/support:** up to 2 years after the conversation ends, unless connected to a purchase record
## 8. Your rights
You can ask us, free of charge, to: **access** the data we hold on you, **correct** it, **delete** it, **restrict** how we use it, **port** it to another service, or **object** to our use of it — including an absolute right to object to direct marketing (i.e. tell us to stop, and we stop). Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email **team@meetingthemneeds.com** — we'll respond within one month.
## 9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, email us and we'll look into it properly — we'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond as quickly as we can.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office: [ico.org.uk](https://ico.org.uk) or 0303 123 1113.
## 10. Children
This site and our products are for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and you must be 18+ to buy.
## 11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged by email to registered users.
